HOW TO CALCULATE THE BRICK WALL LOAD?

How To Calculate The Brick Wall Load? Sample Brick size – 0.23(9”) x 0.075 (3”) x 0.10 (4”) Volume of the one brick – 0.00172m 3 Weight of the brick – 2.5 – 3.5 kg/ brick Approx Volume of the brick with 20mm mortar – 0.25x 0.095 x 0.121 = 0.00287m 3 Number bricks with mortar for 1 m 3 brick wall – 1/0.00287 = 348.43nos with mortar / m 3 Volume of 20mm mortar – (0.23+0.23+0.075+0.075) x 0.10 x 0.020 (thick) = 0.00122m 3 Volume of mortar alone = 348nos x 0.00122 = 0.424m 3 Weight of brick = 348 x 3 = 1044kg/m 3 (Weight of mortar = 2000 kg /m 3 ) Weight of mortar = 0.424 x 2000 = 848kg/m 3 Weight of the brick + weight of the mortar = 1044+848 = 1892 kg /m 3 = 18.92KN/m 3 Say =19KN /m 3
