QUANTITY OF MATERIAL - CEMENT ,SAND & METAL

CALCULATION OF MATERIAL QUANTITY.
CONCRETE
Mix Ratio 1:2:4  - -  (1:2:4)=1+2+4=7
7 is mixing propotion
Volume of wet cement concrete - 1.54 to 1.57
unit weight of cement is 1440kg/cum
1 bag of cement – 50kg/bag  -  =50/1440=0.034722 cum
 Cement = 1.54/7=0.22
                   0.22/0.03472=6.33 bags
1bag of cement = 50kgs
                               =6.33*50kgs=316.82 kgs
 sand                     = 0.22*2=0.44cum
                                  2 is the mixing of proportion
 metal = 0.22*4=0.88cum
                  4 is the mixing of proportion
CEMENT = 6.33 NOS BAGS               SAND   = 0.46 M3       METAL  = 0.88 M3

 PLASTERING
Area of plaster = 3.05 x 3.05 =  9.3 m2          Thickness of plaster  -10mm         Ratio – 1:5
Volume of plaster = 9.3 x 0.01 = 0.09 m3
Quantity of cement = 0.09/1+5 =0.09/6 = 0.02 m3
1 bag cement =0.0347 m3
no. of cement bags = 0.02/0.0347 = 0.58 bags
quantity of sand = 0.02 x 5 = 0.10 m3
For wastage  - add 30% extra .
CEMENT = 0.58 NOS BAGS               SAND   = 0.13 M3
BRICKWORK
Brick Size- 230mm x 115mm x 75mm       Ratio – 1:6
Vol. of brick( w/o mortar) = 0.00198 M3.
Thk. of mortar be 12mm.
vol. of brick with mortar = 242mm x 127mm x 87mm
                          = 0.00267 M3.
No. of bricks in 1 cum. with mortar = 1/0.00267= 373.99
                                Total No of Bricks = 374Nos.
Cement Mortar required = 1-( 374 x 0.00198) = 0.259 M3
Add 15% for frog filling and wastage while execution.
Volume of wet mortar = 0.299 M3
Volume of dry mortar ( increase by 30% ) = 0.388 M3
 Qty. of cement = 1/7 x (1440 x 0.388)      = 0.055 cum.
Qty. of sand = 0.055 x 6              = 0.330 cum.
CEMENT =1.6 NOS BAGS                   SAND   = 0.13 M3
